Work From Home (WFH) is normalised because of a pandemic, which initiated the Work From Bali (WFB) trend. It became a government-approved programme at the beginning of the third quarter of 2021. Work From Bali is rapidly gaining popularity in Indonesia. In fact, the Indonesian government proposed this to boost the economy of Bali tourism sector.

Work From Bali is a programme initiated by the Indonesian government which invites and encourages people to work from Bali. The WFB programme was launched to help the tourism sector in Bali which was affected by COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, Nusa Dua is one amongst three locations chosen for WFB programme.

As stated by Kompas.com on May 29th, 2021, “Nusa Dua is an area managed by a State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN), namely the Indonesian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC.” The government is working on restoring Bali’s economy with the implementation of this programme.

With the WFB programme, it’s expected that not only government officials but the private sector is also able to hold activities or meetings in Bali by implementing strict health protocols. Sandiaga Uno mentioned that WFB is encouraged to provide a multiplier effect for creative economy products such as culinary, souvenirs, and fashion up to 70%.
